Grades of oil and why customer's keep coming back to Lady A
Here at Lady A, we are on a mission to make beautiful customer-centred products to help alleviate the stresses, strains, and worries of modern life. Using only the very best premium CBD hemp extract, natural botanical extracts and essential oils, but what does premium mean? With CBD brands popping up left right and centre, it can often be confusing trying to navigate which brand is best. To help eliminate some of this confusion, we have outlined a breakdown of what types of CBD are out there and how to identify precisely what percentage is being used so that you can make an informed decision next time you make a purchase.
Key Facts
- Cannabis: is a family of plants that are made up of Cannabis sativaand Cannabis indica.
- Hemp: is a member of the Cannabis Sativa family and is cultivated for non-drug use as its chemical makeup consists of <1% THC, which means hemp won't get you high and is being used as a source of CBD.
- CBD: or cannabidiol, is a compound found primarily in the flowers and leaves of the hemp plant. It's one of many potent cannabinoids found in hemp and is known for supporting body and mind in various ways. CBD products come in many forms, including oils, tablets, drops, vape pens or balms.
Compound varieties and benefits
Hemp and Cannabis contain over 700 compounds making up Terpenes, Cannabinoids, Flavonoids and other plant material all with their own unique health benefits.
There are three main types of CBD:
- Broad-spectrum.
- Full-spectrum - (with THC).
- Isolate - (contains pure CBD and no other cannabis plant compounds).
Broad Spectrum CBD is known to be six times more effective than CBD isolate or pure CBD according to studies in Israel, Canada and the USA as it produces what's called the 'entourage effect' which means they work in synergy together. Due to the complex nature of CBD, issues arise which has led to misleading branding across the CBD industry with many often labelling products incorrectly as 'pure' or 'Pharma grade' CBD when they are isolate no other cannabinoids.
Why Lady A?
Looking at the CBD market and the labelling inconsistencies, we wanted to address this at Lady A. In short Lady A CBD oils contain around 15 cannabinoids and 20 terpenes which are one of the richest broad-spectrum oils on the market, Whereas most broad spectrum suppliers only have around 2-5 minor cannabinoids and no terpenes detected. This significant difference in quality is why we pay more at Lady A, to ensure our customer's are receiving a premium high value product.
In addition to this, some of the other cannabinoids we have also include CBC, which is a natural antidepressant and CBG, which is known to be a stronger anti-inflammatory. In financial terms, we buy our oil from our suppliers at a far higher cost than an isolate and more than other broad-spectrum oils on the UK market. However, there are many UK CBD brands that sadly charge the same price as luxury brands despite being isolate.
What also sets us apart from other CBD brands on the market is location. Our product is grown organically in the outdoors of Colorado USA, without pesticides, No GMO and 0% THC. Ensuring our oils are the highest quality without cutting corners to reduce the cost and resulting in a brand with accurate labelling you can trust.
Another point to consider is having CBD content too low or too high can be an issue as you want to make sure there are other cannabinoids and terpenes present. Having 95% CBD or 20% CBD isn't ideal as you want to have around 80% CBD combined with lots of other compounds. This is not the % on the bottle or the % on their COA on their website usually as this is the % after it has been diluted in its oil carrier and not to be confused with the original COA (Certificate of analysis) from their oil supplier which brands usually do not show. Also % is based on size of the bottle so looking at the MG content is a better formula to use.
Furthermore, our food scientists have carefully curated our other ingredients to ensure their maximum benefit when mixed with CBD at the right amounts. We use hemp seed oil as the carrier oil as we believe it has its own health benefits and leaves the oil in its natural state. We cater to our customers who prefer deliciously tasting flavour in their oils (morning and evening tinctures) and customers who prefer nothing added and flavourless natural tasting oils (anytime tinctures).

Last but not least, our luxury packaging comes from all over the world. Our founder Alexander Dunhill designed our branding using a unique marbling technique that cannot be copied due to the rare and vibrant colours she made from scratch, making Lady A’s branding truly unique.
